The Door Eastside CFC San Antonio, TX

The Door Eastside Christian Fellowship Church is a Bible-believing, gospel-centered congregation located in San Antonio, Texas. While operating as an autonomous local body governed by our pastoral leadership and Board of Directors, we intentionally align under the spiritual authority, oversight, and discipline of our fellowship’s elder leadership—ensuring biblical structure, accountability, and high moral and doctrinal standards.

Founded on the timeless truths of Scripture, our ministry is built upon six foundational pillars:

• Evangelism: Taking the Gospel outside the four walls of the church is our absolute foundation. In obedience to Mark 16:15, we emphasize personal witnessing and community outreach.
• Genuine Conversions: We witness, testify, and preach for a decision—believing in the power of the Holy Spirit to genuinely save, redeem, and transform lives.
• The Local Church: God has placed everything necessary to accomplish His will within the local assembly, where believers connect, serve, and grow together.
• Discipleship: In obedience to Matthew 28:19–20, we equip and mentor believers into spiritual maturity, helping each person discover their God-given calling.
• Church Planting: As disciples are raised up, we release and send out couples into the harvest field to plant brand-new, self-governing churches.
• World Evangelism: God’s heart is for the nations. We are committed to praying, investing, and sending workers to carry the Gospel across cultures and borders.

The Door Eastside CFC is rooted in a continuous spiritual lineage of soul-winning, discipleship, world evangelism, and church planting—tracing a direct line from our fellowship’s origins in Arizona to the Eastside of San Antonio:

• Prescott, AZ (1970) — The Founding Church: Christian Fellowship Ministries (CFM) was birthed under the founding leadership of Pastor Wayman Mitchell in Prescott, Arizona.
• Tucson, AZ (1973) — The Global Launching Center: Pastor Harold and Mona Warner were launched from Prescott to pioneer The Door Church in Tucson. Under Pastor Warner’s steadfast leadership, this work grew into a movement that has raised up disciples and sent out pioneer pastors to establish over 600 churches globally.
• El Paso, TX — Foundations in Texas: After pioneering a church in London, Pastor Paul and Renee Stephens returned to the United States to take over pastoral care of The Door in El Paso, pastoring there faithfully for over 25 years and establishing a vital foundation for ministry across Texas.
• San Antonio, TX (1983) — The San Antonio Great-Grandmother Church: Birthed out of that foundational legacy, The Door Christian Fellowship Church of San Antonio was established in 1983. Pastor Richard and Yolanda Rubi assumed pastoral leadership in 1988, pastoring faithfully for over 30 years and raising their family within the congregation.
• Southside San Antonio, TX (1992) — The Southside Grandmother Church: Converted in the San Antonio mother church, Pastor Isaac and Doris Cortez were sent in April 1992 to pioneer a new work on the city’s south side. Following years of revival, the Cortezes answered a call to missionary work in South Africa in 2013, with Pastor Willis and Liz Gordon stepping in to lead the congregation.
• Southeast San Antonio, TX (2007) — The Southeast Mother Church: In 2007, Pastor Roger and Cathleen Gamboa were launched from the Southside church to pioneer The Door Southeast San Antonio. When the Gamboas departed as missionaries to Sri Lanka, pastoral care was carried forward by Pastor Mat and Blanca Spachek until he answered the call to be an evangelist, followed by Pastor Fernando and Lisa Bononcini (until 2020) for missionary work in Bulgaria, and Pastor Adam and Sylvia Mora, who returned to lead their home church in May 2021.
• Eastside San Antonio, TX (2026) — The Door Eastside CFC: Saved and discipled at the Southeast congregation, Pastor Albert Casias (Founder & Lead Pastor) and Joannette Casias (Co-Founder) served in key leadership roles before being officially launched in April 2026 by Pastor Adam Mora and The Door Southeast to plant The Door Eastside CFC.

Carrying forward this unbroken spiritual heritage, our church continues to fulfill the Great Commission through soul-winning, discipleship, and church planting—operating locally under pastoral leadership while maintaining voluntary spiritual fellowship and elder accountability within CFM.
